Anita Gittens - Director
In addition to over 30 years of experience in the health care sector, a deep understanding of health care priorities and needs, Anita has extensive business and governance skills that she blends to guide organizations and individuals in her current role as a senior health consultant, life and executive coach.
Anita has held professional and leadership roles at William Osler Health System starting in Nuclear Medicine, and in other public and private organizations. She has owned and operated a women's fitness centre in Etobicoke.
She has served on several boards and committees including as Chair of both the Albion Lodge and Wesburn Manor Homes for the Aged Advisory Committees, and Chair of the Toronto Homes for the Aged Inter Home Advisory. She has also served on the Divisional Homes for the Aged Advisory and the Toronto District Health Council.
Anita was a founding Board Member of the Central West Local Health Integration Network from 2006 to 2011, involved in providing oversight of the planning, funding, integrating and monitoring of local health care services. Her governance roles extend into the community, including being a Board member of Promoting Education and Community Health, supporting marginalized and at risk youth.
She is also a Board and Council member of the Women's Inter Church Council of Canada and is actively involved in the Diocese of Toronto from local to national levels. She is a member of the Advisory Board of her local church, is the Chair of the York Credit Valley Area Council and is the President of the Toronto Diocesan Anglican Church Women.
Anita has been awarded the Order of the Diocese of Toronto for her work in the community and beyond.
